Training QTCs
The very unique feature of the Worked All Europe DX Contest (WAEDC) is the QTC traffic. In earlier years, QTCs were logged on paper. As soon as there were computer logging programs available, contesters logged them directly into the computer. While logging QTCs on paper has its own Pro's and Con's (who didn't have the problem to decipher his/her own handwriting), logging them on computer with the keyboard also provides its challenges.
To become proficient enough in logging QTCs, a wide variety of QTC audio samples (SSB and CW) are provided here as a result of previously recorded WAE contests. In this training it is not about getting every single letter correct. In some pro samples, you will miss one or another letter or number. in real life, you would just ask again for the missing information. When you missed one specific letter when listening to these audio samples, just continue.
As far as the CW audio samples are concerned, they contain all the QSB, QRM, QRN and splattering you experience in the heat of the contest.
For beginners, I recommend also the beautiful website https://lcwo.net, created by Fabian, DJ5CW. He offers computer generated QTC training at any speed you want to start with and the direct check of your entered QTCs
